The Cannelton Foundation, Inc. is committed to the restoration, renovation, and revitalization of our historic town. We were formed in 2006 as a non-profit 501c3 affiliate of our sister organization, the Cannelton Revitalization Association.
One way we promote our mission is hosting the Cannelton Heritage Festival each October. The one-day festival is in its fourth year and continues to grow. With estimated crowds of 3,000 people this past October, our festival has become a county and regional tourism attraction. We’ve also hosted the Dogwood Festival, an outdoor river concert to raise money toward restoration efforts for the old Cannelton gym, and a Christmas tour of homes. We look to grow our efforts of an even bigger Heritage Festival, more river concerts, and other activities to promote and help our town. We’ve set our sights on Cannelton’s 175th birthday celebration in 2012 and have already begun plans.
We wouldn’t be able to accomplish our efforts if it weren’t for the many people and businesses of our community. We are looking to you for that continued support by joining the Foundation at a membership level comfortable for you and your family.
Membership simply shows your support to Cannelton and the surrounding community in our continued efforts to restore our town and revitalize our community. In addition, your membership gift enables us to compete for competitive grants that require matching funds--grants for economic development studies geared toward small towns like ours, grants for the Arts and programming for our community, and grants for saving historic structures like our stone wall along 7th street.
Take ownership in helping our community. Join the Cannelton Foundation with a yearly membership. Every member is welcome to attend all meetings and volunteer at any event. We would love your input and opinion!
